Yes! Everyone is able to join our company even with no prior dance experience. Although there is no audition required to join, we do have four group levels in our company. We place students into the appropriate levels according to their ability to learn beginner, intermediate or advanced steps, our students' ages and - if any - prior dance experience.

We require that our students wear all black sport/dance attire clothing or group uniforms sold throughout the year. All female hair will be secured in a bun unless hair is too short to comply. Ponytails and braids often whiplash partners in group choreographies and can be caught in props. As for male hair, if hair precedes pasts the individual's shoulder, he too will be required to secure his hair to avoid whiplashing others.

We have a total of 3 Coaches available for private lessons. If you find yourself falling behind on steps or simply would like the extra practice, each Coach has their own style of teaching and can be specifically requested.

There are many other services that we offer outside of Folklorico. As a reminder, our director, Lucia Parra, does have a degree as a Special Events Coordinator and has coordinated multiple big events such as dance competitions, Quinceanera's and Weddings, Fundraisers and is a bilingual Spokesperson.
